Formal letter from chair of Sandbaai Communal Housing Forum, Henk Lombard, to speaker Grant Cohen alleging code of conduct violations by Christopher Reid. The letter is dated on 2025-11-2025. Following the 20 November public ward committee meeting, the letter was shared publicly to defame Christopher Reid.

For clarity, the information included in the document is misleading. Here are the facts, verifiable with Sandbaai Hall Committee audio recordings and meeting minutes:

No "controversy" over the 23 June 2025 was alleged until this complaint by Henk Lombard on 17 November. One person's complaint 5 months later is hardly a "controversy." Henk Lombard was present at the meetings and made no objections.
The 23 June 2025 meeting was preceded by an informal explanation to potential members of what the Sandbaai Hall Committee does. Potential members were asked to arrive 10 minutes early to facilitate this. Henk and Hybre Lombard arrived early and were asked to wait until the official start of the meeting. The potential members were then introduced to the committee. The meeting proceeded as usual. At the conclusion of the meeting there was a vote for new members. The 5 new members were unanimously accepted as members of the committee. Henk Lombard voted in favour of their addition as well.
At a subsequent meeting, Hybre Lombard, who was present as an observer on behalf of the municipality, raised a concern that two of the new members work in Cape Town. The objection was discussed and the committee unanimously agreed that the two new members in question would be permitted to remain. Henk Lombard voted in favour.
Christopher Reid was elected as chairperson of the Sandbaai Hall Committee by a unanimous vote. There were 12 voting members plus Hybre Lombard present. Even if one were to disqualify all members votes who joined the committee on 23 June, the results would not change. Henk Lombard voted in favour of Christopher Reid for the new chairperson.
This is a slanderous allegation and objectively false. Christopher Reid has not been shown to have spread any false information.

The letter is clearly a retaliation against Christopher Reid for whistleblowing on the violations of 2 groups on the ward committee that Henk Lombard controls and an attempt to remove him from the ward committee.
