Crime is down in Sandbaai

The Bad News:

The latest crime statistics show that crime is up drastically in the Overstrand over the past year. Crime has risen in all suburbs except one. This is a serious issue that concerns us all.

The Good News:

Sandbaai is the only suburb in the Overstrand where crime has actually gone down. According to the latest statistics, over the past year crime is down over 70% in Sandbaai, despite crime epidemics in our neighbouring suburbs.

How can our crime rate be dropping? Law enforcement stated that it is due to Sandbaai’s extensive CCTV camera network and vigilant patrols. With more than 50 cameras already being monitored from the Sandbaai Security Centre in the clocktower on Sandbaai Main Road, and Schulphoek Action Group’s additional 19 cameras, it has become more and more difficult for criminals to commit crimes in Sandbaai.

The heroic Sandbaai Buurtwag volunteers, Tyte Security, ADT, CULive, Seraphim, and Safe Security are all working together to patrol Sandbaai. This cooperation between groups is helping keep us all safer and we owe them our gratitude. Make a point of thanking your security company for taking part in the Spotters groups and Sandbaai Neighbourhood Watch patrols.

So much is possible when we work together as a community, volunteer, and work to prevent crime now.
